Trying to rank the top 25 or so Quarterbacks in college football is fools play. Stats can be fun but they don’t tell the whole story. The real interesting analysis is found within the context of a Quarterback’s journey: his roots, unique skill sets and the speed bump challenges faced along the way. So The Quarterback Connection is providing you with a profile of some of college footballs most interesting FBS college QB stories for 2024.
Last week in Part l we identified two categories: The 5 Best FBS Quarterbacks Under the Radar, and The 5 Best QB Newcomers. These QBs are positioned to make a move into the national conversation.
Today we bring you Part ll, which identifies our Top 5 NFL QB Draft Prospects for 2024.
#5 Jaxson Dart, 6’2” 215 lbs, Mississippi, Senior
So if you’re from Western USA (Kaysville, Utah) and you throw for 10,688 yards and 117 TDs, AND, you are the MaxPreps National Player of the Year, where do you go to college? Why Southern Cal of course! But, like many highly touted dual threat QBs the story doesn’t always play out according to plan. As a Freshman with the Trojans, Jaxson would compete for the starting job only to be edged out by incumbent Kedon Slovis.
But, how quickly the landscape at USC changed for Jaxson! His head coach Clay Helton would be fired early in the season and Dart would debut in game three when Slovis went down with an injury. Entering the game against Washington State on the second series Jaxson would hit 30 of 46 for 391 yards and 4 TDS. He did throw two pics. The Trojans won in a walk and the 391yards was the most ever by a USC QB in his first game.
Jaxson would finish out 2021 with three starts (0-3) and 9 TD passes. But, we’ve seen this Southern Cal movie before as Lincoln Riley rolled into USC with his soon to be Heisman QB, Caleb Williams in tow. Jaxson Dart would hit the portal and meet another former USC head coach Lane Kiffin now at Ole Miss.
Rebels with a Cause
Kiffin, known to possess substantial offensive brain cells, seemed to offer exactly what Dart needed: refinement of his passing technique and surrounding the QB with NFL type weapons at WR. 2022 would be a growth year for both Dart and Mississippi as the team went 8-5. But the maturity swelled in 2023 with additional talent added via the portal. In fact, Lane tiffin is called the “transfer Portal King” by Sports illustrated. In 2023 Ole Miss would post its first 11 win season (11-2) in school history. It would also finish nationally in the Top 10 (9th) for only the 2nd time since 1969.
Jaxson Dart improved exponentially from 2022 to 2023. In addition to taking the team from 8 wins to 11 wins he improved on all of his personal metrics including a 65.1% completion percentage (62.4% in 2022), 23 touchdown passes (20) versus only 5 interceptions (11), and a stunning average yardage per attempt of 9.4 (8.2). Dart would also add 8 touchdowns rushing (1) in 2023. I saw Jaxson play in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta against a tough Penn State (10-3) defense and he ate them up! The Nittany Lion defense had no answer to Dart’s 25 of 40 completions with 3 TDs against ZERO interceptions. He added a touchdown on the ground.
Jaxson can make all the throws and his pocket mobility classifies him as a dual threat. He has excellent vision that allows him to make plays off-platform. Ole Miss has enjoyed a strong running attack under Kiffin but Dart adds enough of a run-pass option threat to make defensive game-planning a real headache. Playing in the SEC has provided Jaxson with Big-Game experience and Ole Miss should be right in the thick of the CFP discussion.
The College Football Terminator
But Lane Kiffin believes Dart’s value extends off the field and into the lockeroom. Kiffin believes Dart is the Rebel’s most powerful culture-building force on the roster. Says Kiffin “he’s just a really unique leader. He would be a phenomenal head coach by the way he impacts people around him”. And apparently Jaxson is, in large part, responsible for the players around him. He’s been such an active recruiter of players in the portal that Sports Illustrated calls him the “college football Terminator”! More from Kiffin “I actually don’t know that I’ve seen over time a player actively recruit more to put together a team on both sides of the ball than Jaxson did this off-season”.
Ole Miss enters the 2024 season with 18 seniors out of the total of 24 new transfers. The remaining 6 are all juniors. So Jaxson Dart and Lane Kiffin have loaded the the Ole Miss House. Early returns? Well, given the first two games have been blowouts vs Furman (76-0 Yikes) and Middle Tennessee State (52-3) you would expect some largesse in the stats. He hasn’t disappointed as Jaxson completed his first 24 passes last week and finished 25 of 27! Over the two games he completed 30 passes in a row which is the longest streak in SEC history! Hard to believe but he has more TD passes (8) than incompletions(6). I mean, most QBs can’t hit those numbers in 7 X 7 at practice!
The real tests pile up soon in the SEC so watch for the league opener vs Kentucky on Sept 28. Once into the SEC schedule the Rebels will play LSU, Oklahoma and Georgia over a four week period. Hotty Toddy !
Jaxson Dart is now a three year starter at Ole Miss and positioned for greatness. The NFL will be watching and they should be! The Heisman watch committee will be watching and they should be! If I’m an NFL GM and I’m hearing Lane Kiffin describe his starting Quarterback as a “powerful culture-building force” in the locker room then I am paying attention.
#4 Jalen Milroe, 6’2” 212 lbs, Alabama
Jalen Milroe may have the highest upside in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he is a work in progress. An exquisite athlete at 6’2” and a very solid 220lbs he is currently ranked as the fastest elite QB in the draft (4.60 forty). Jalen attended Tompkins HS in Katy, Texas. Yup, another QB from Texas. In his career at Tompkins he passed for over 3,800 yards and accounted for 53 touchdowns passing and running. He originally committed to Texas (of course) but eventually wound up with Nick Saban at Alabama.
He spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons as the understudy to Heisman winner Bryce Young. Frankly, not a bad way to break into the college game. Milroe would mostly watch a 13-2 season in 2021 and the followup 12-2 in 2022. In both years Jalen backed up Bryce and got some PT when the game was out of hand. Not bad duty, but, it only amounted to about 60 attempts and 6 TD passes over the two years.
Back Riding the Pine
When 2023 rolled around Jalen was a very green QB1. He performed well enough in his “soft launch” season opener vs Middle Tennessee accounting for 5 TDS in the 56-7 blowout. But things got dicier in a hurry as #3 Alabama was taken down by Quinn Ewer and the #11 Texas Longhorns in week two 24-34. Milroe threw for two TDS but added two untimely turnovers that told Nick Sagan that Jalen Milroe was not yet ready.
Jalen would be benched the following week vs USF in favor of Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner. ‘Bama looked unimpressive in the 17-3 win and Saban reinstated Milroe as his QB1. His pupil went to school during the time off and brought a new level of maturity to his game. Alabama would reel off 10 consecutive wins with Jalen Milroe learning and improving in each contest. These were nail-biters like the win over Texas A&M in College Station 26-20 where Jalen would go 21 of 33 for 321 yards and 3 TDS, or the 24-21 squeaker in Tuscaloosa over Arkansas 24-21 with Jalen hitting for 238 yards passing and 2 TDS. Against LSU Saban’s QB would win with his legs as Milroe rushed for 155 yards and 4 TDS!
But, Jalen Milroe forever enshrined himself in Alabama lore in the rivalry game against Auburn known as the Iron Bowl. He played brilliantly (16 of 24, 259 yards, 2 TDs paint, 107 yards rushing) but The Tide found itself down 20-21 to the Tigers with under four minutes left in the game.
“Fourth-and-31!”
Milroe drove the team to the Auburn 8-yard line when disaster struck. Alabama center Seth McLaughlin snapped the ball to an unprepared Milroe on 2nd and goal with under two minutes left. Milroe recovered, but all the way back on the 26 yard line. After three plays produced virtually nothing Alabama and Jalen Milroe were faced with fourth-and-31 with 32 seconds to go in the game. Miraculously, Milroe’s desperation pass landed in the waiting arms of WR Isiah Bond in the back corner of the end zone! The play is forever known in Iron Bowl history as “fourth-and-31.”
Alabama and Jalen Milroe would ride that momentum through #1 Georgia in the SEC Championship game 27-24 with Jalen taking Game MVP honors. But the music stopped in the CFP semi-final in the Rose Bowl vs Michigan. On this New Year’s Day the Jalen Milroe Cinderella story would end 27-20 in OT against the Wolverines, the eventual National Champions. There were no miracles for Jalen nor Alabama as the vaunted Michigan defense held the Tide to converting only 3 of 13 3rd down attempts. Total yards would be a season low 288.
Jalen Milroe would finish 2023 at Alabama with very respectable numbers, including an 11-2 starting record, a 65.8% completion percentage with 23 TD passes and only 6 interceptions. His athleticism added 531 yards on the ground with an additional 12 rushing TDS. He returns in 2023 as one of the true dual-threats in the country.
New Coach, New Team
One thing is constant these days in college football, and that is change. Nick Saban surprised the football world by announcing his retirement following the 2023 season. Jalen Milroe was convinced by new coach Karen DeBoer to stay put in Tuscaloosa, but new coaches bring new systems and even new players through the portal. So in 2024, Alabama and Milroe are off to a slow start. In the opener vs South Florida, the Tide’s lead in the 3rd quarter was a mere 14-13. They put up 21 points in the last six minutes of the fourth quarter to run away 42-16, but the Tide lost three fumbles in the second half including one by Milroe. Week two went as expected with Alabama rolling up Western Kentucky 63-0, and while Milroe passed for 3 TDs he only had 9 attempts in the blowout.
The first real test comes this week at Wisconsin. The Badgers are 2-0 and it will be the first Alabama visit to Madison in almost 100 years. SEC, say hello to the BIG10! Jalen Milroe, your NFL exam has officially started.
His draft grades from NFLDRAFTBUZZ.com to date have many of the assets cited above including elite athleticism, excellent arm strength that can “make all the throws,” serious poise under pressure (think Iron Bowl), and experience in BIG games as well as in a Pro-style offense.
His building blocks for success include continuing to work on inconsistent mechanics, improving his field of vision and progressive reads, and development of better touch on deep balls. When I think of Jalen Milroe I’m reminded of Lamar Jackson. The ultimate dual threat, Jackson was more developed at this stage of his college career than Jalen Milroe is today, but Jalen has a spectacular upside if he can only harness that raw talent and refine his Quarterback skills. But the rehearsals are over! After Wisconsin, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, LSU, Oklahoma and Auburn are all waiting!
#3 Shedeur Sanders, 6’2” 215 lbs, Colorado
The youngest son of one of the NFL’s greatest players, Shedeur Sanders is a bit of an enigma to me. He is brilliantly athletic and possesses elite Quarterback skills. His father, Deion Sanders was his OC in high school at Trinity Christian in Cedar, Texas and as a senior he passed for 43 TDs and attained a four-star rating. When his father was named head coach at Jackson State Shedeur destained all offers to go play for his dad at the HBCU. Sitting out the COVID season of 2020 Shedeur would start in 2021 and be named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year’s well as recipient of the Jerry Rice award as the most outstanding Freshman in the NCAA FCS subdivision. Thus becoming the first player from an HBCU school to win the award.
Prime Time
If 2021 was prolific for Sanders, 2022 became a monster season. He completed 70% of his passes, for 3,732 yards plus 40 TDs vs only 6 interceptions. But, after being named SWAC Offensive Player of the Year Shedeur would enter the transfer portal to once again follow his father to Colorado. At Boulder he was immediately named the starting QB. This is where it gets a little dicey for me.
I’ve written in prior stories how Deion Sanders rolled into Boulder, Colorado and unceremoniously informed (or in some cases didn’t personally inform) 80 of the Colorado players that they all needed to find new homes. They were run off thanks to their 1-11 season in 2022. Deion would bring in 80 new players via recruiting or the transfer portal. The theme seemed to be win now at any cost. The university stood moot while Sanders and his staff tossed 80 players, all of whom had chosen Colorado over other options, out the door to fend for themselves. So much for the idea that football builds integrity on and off the field?
Well, in 2023 Sanders’ process certainly didn’t build much as the Bisons would go 4-8 (1-8 in the Pac-12) with losses like 42-6 to Oregon and 56-14 to Washington State. Shedeur operated in an offense that seemed built entirely to showcase his skills. While very athletic, Shedeur prefers to make his money passing the football versus running and he’s VERY good at it. Taking his lumps with 56 sacks (most in the country) Shedeur still managed to throw 27 TD passes against only 3 pics. Pretty miraculous given Colorado finished dead last in the country in rushing yards per game (68.9) and rushing yards per carry (2.31).
What Have you Done for me Lately?
Disappointed with his offense Deion made some changes. Actually he made a massive overhaul of his coaching staff. I guess if it’s good enough for former Bison players it should be good enough for the coaches as well. Both his OC and DC were fired. There are also new coaches with the OL, CBs, and WRs. And why stop there? Coach Prime has also lured in an additional 42 transfers via the portal. Combined with 13 traditional high school recruits that’s a total of 55 new faces on the Colorado roster after losing 80 the previous year! Nine of the new transfers are offensive linemen.
Sacks are Team Sacks
As a former Quarterback I can’t help but observe that building a solid offensive line takes expert technique coaching, a group of OL with complimentary skill sets, and most of all; great team-building. The offensive linemen need time together in the trenches to build trust and camaraderie. Installing a revolving door in your OL room is not gonna cut back on 56 sacks. These guys need to love one another. Something hard to do when you don’t even know the guy lined up next to you.
So Shedeur is going to be challenged early to look all these new guys in the eye in the huddle and develop the trust. Trust is a two-way street between OL and their QBs. Part of playing Quarterback is to know when NOT to take a sack. A high sack rate is not necessarily all on the OL. A QB needs to protect his OL by getting rid of the ball on time. This requires executing perfect technique on all your drops including three-step, five-step and seven-step drops. Add a half-step or two and you have… another sack. Pre-snap looks and quick-read progressions also help avoid hanging on to the ball too long and winding up on your back.
Trust and integrity are key elements of team-building. I’m a little worried about the integrity part with Shedeur. Why? Well, he certainly seems to have earned the status of the #1 valued NIL athlete in college football. He is the only college football player with an On3 https://www.on3.com/nil/rankings/player/nil-100/ valuation of greater than $4 million. But he and his family also seem to be leading the country in self-promotion.
Well Off?
Deion and his sons Deion Jr, Shilo and Shedeur have been producing a podcast called Overtime for several years. Recently Shedeur announced his personal podcast called 2Legendary and in the second episode he invited his brothers to join him. Meanwhile, Deion JR’s company, Well OFF Media (curious title) chronicles the Sanders family’s journey through life and football.
I can’t think of many other college football players who have the resources or energy to invest in this time of self-promotion. And it makes one wonder: does it matter if you are losing? When is self-promotion appropriate? Should you actually win something first before you talk about how “Well OFF” you are? Maybe not. But, my guess is those offensive linemen covering your back would rather experience team success prior to such individual self-promotion.
As for Shedeur? Well, he’s not shying away from the NIL limelight. His current collection of luxury vehicles includes a Corvette Stingray, Mercedes EQ8, a Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, and a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 ($175,000). But let’s not forget the Rolls Royce Cullinan ($350,000) that got all the attention when Shedeur arrived on campus in Boulder back in 2023. A Rolls Royce? On campus? Interesting thought process to get there, right? My teammates will love me with all this bling! Maybe not.
NFL Opinion
This week in The Athletic, Jim Trotter asked an anonymous, former NFL GM for a draft analysis of Shedeur Sanders, “At this point, if I’m coming back to the league and kicking off a new regime, with what I know, I would never have Shedeur kick things off with me. I’m trying to pinpoint why that is, and I just don’t trust everything I’m seeing right now. He’s got some money from the portal and he’s spending it the way he is. … I just don’t trust his maturity. I don’t trust how he’s going to be able to handle the limelight, which sounds odd because he should be able to handle it more than anyone because he’s been around it all his life. I don’t mean handle the limelight; rather, is he going to be a distraction in that building? Is he going to irritate people? Do his teammates like him, or do they resent him?”
If Colorado is going to turn things around and if an NFL team is going to consider making Shedeur Sanders a high 1st round pick they are going to need to answer these questions pretty quickly. The Bison had a scare in the opener vs FCS North Dakota State (31-26) and last week the 28-10 train-wreck loss at Nebraska. The schedule is offering up rival Colorado State, Baylor and UCF over the next three weeks and a real opportunity to get the train back on the tracks. But a let down in any of these games would be devastating. It will be interesting to see which car Shedeur is driving at the end of 2024.
#2 Quinn Ewers, 6’2” 2015 lbs, Texas
Quinn Ewers is “one of those guys.” He started as a blue blood high school Quarterback, growing up in Souhtlake Texas (of course Texas!) and coached by a former Quarterback, Riley Dodge. Hell, Ewers was recruited and offered a scholarship by Graham Harrell (legendary Texas Tech QB and now Purdue OC) while still in the sixth grade! Fast forward through all the records and Quinn was ranked the top overall recruit in the country for the class of 2022.
Crowded QB Room
Ewers committed early to Texas in 2020 but decommitted and switched to Ohio State upon HS graduation. As a freshman in 2021 with the Buckeyes, Quinn would look around a Quarterback room that included CJ Stroud, Kyle McCord and Jack Miller lll. All freshmen or redshirt freshmen and all four-star or better recruits! Of course, Stroud would win the job, and become a favorite for the Heisman after a 2021 season with 44 TD passes and only 6 pics taking OSU to a 10-2 record.
But Quinn still had the Eyes of Texas upon him, so he entered the portal and accepted coach Steve Sarkisian’s offer to join the Longhorns for 2022. Sark immediately named Ewers QB1, and the heat came early on Sept 10, 2022 when the Longhorns took on Alabama. Quinn Ewers would start like a house on fire lighting up the Tide with 9 of 12 completions in the first Quarter for 134 yards. But as the first quarter ended Ewers sustained a shoulder injury that would put him on the shelf for the next two games. Texas went down to Alabama 20-19 and lose the momentum of a highly promising season.
The Tide has Shifted!
Ewers would eventually come back, guiding the team to a disappointing 6-4 finish, but showing poise and confidence that allowed him to post 15 TD passes vs only 6 pics. The table was set for an Alabama rematch in Tuscaloosa in 2023 and Ewers and the Longhorns didn’t disappoint. In September 2023 the #11 Longhorns defeated #3 Alabama 34-24 as Quinn Ewers lit up the Tide for 349 yards, three TDs and zero interceptions. It would end Alabama’s 21 home game win streak and confirm that Texas is Back!
Ewers started all 12 games in 2023 and Texas went 10-2, including winning the Big-12 Championship game vs Oklahoma State and a spot in the CFP semi-final game vs the Washington Huskies. The Longhorns’ season would end in the semi-final as they went down 31-37. Ewers posted 318 passing yards and a TD plus added another 54 yards rushing. His season numbers were explosive: 3,479 yards, 22 TDs and only 6 pics. His completion percentage of 69% was elite.
If there are any NFL questions about Quinn Ewers, it’s tightening up some inconsistency on decision making and footwork. Fundamentally he can make all the throws. At 6’2” and 220lbs he’s a pro-style Quarterback with athleticism and mobility. He has been labeled an elite improvisational QB who can extend plays and remain accurate on the move.
Big Game Player
2024 opened for Texas with yet another big game against a Top 10 opponent. On Sept 7, the #2 Longhorns traveled to Ann Arbor to take on the #17 rated Wolverines. Ewers and company didn’t disappoint. Texas rolled over Michigan 31-12 and Quinn Ewers stepped up for yet another big game with 24 of 36 completions for 246 yards, three TDs and zero pics.
In the locker room after the game, coach Steve Sarkisian made the observation that his QB Quinn Ewers had won starts at both Alabama (2023) and now Michigan (2024) over the past two seasons. He challenged the press to research if that had ever been previously accomplished? Google and other historic data bases suggest Quinn Ewers is the first QB in 150 years to win at the two most winning programs in consecutive years. He did it while throwing for 595 yards, 6 TDs, no interceptions and a 65% completion rate. Yikes!
Swagger?
It appears that Notre Dame is the only other school to achieve the feat in 1979 and 1980, but with two different Quarterbacks. Which brings me to final thoughts on Quinn Ewers. He reminds me of Joe Montana: about the same size, same style, athleticism and charisma. He made a throw in the Michigan game that only a few Quarterbacks are capable of making. It was with ten seconds left in the 1st half and Texas had the ball on the Michigan 5 yard-line. Ewers out of the gun rolled to his left, he hit the left hash at about full speed and threw a perfect strike to Matthew Golden one yard over the goal line and one yard inside the sideline marker.
This execution, for a right-handed QB rolling left is only possible when the QB squares both shoulders to the line of scrimmage while running left. When I saw it I thought of two things: 1) That was an amazing throw, and 2) I’ve seen someone do that before: Joe Montana.
I think Quinn Ewers has some inconsistencies, but he has something that overcomes most liabilities. He has the “IT” factor. He has a Joe Montana swagger. It’s not cocky and it’s not an “all about me” statement. It’s an innate ability to make plays most guys can’t make and do it without beating his own chest. Just like Joe did. It’s why Quinn Ewers will go high in the NFL first round. Oh, and yeah, it’s why his teammates love to rally around him. Texas will be in the twelve team playoff.
#1 Carson Beck, 6’4” 220 lbs, Georgia
Carson attended Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, FL and was named the 2018 Florida Mr. Football after throwing for 3,546 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior. Beck led Mandarin to a Florida State Championship, throwing for five touchdowns in the game. A three sport athlete he had committed to play baseball at Florida while still a sophomore before deciding to focus on football, initially committing to Alabama. Beck would ultimately decommit from Alabama and commit to play college football at the University of Georgia.
The Road Less Traveled…
As a highly-touted four-star recruit, Carson Beck was projected to play early in his career at Georgia. It just didn’t work out that way. In 2021 as a redshirt freshman, Beck had been backing up the Bulldogs starter JT Daniels. When Daniels was injured in game two, Kirby Smart and the Georgia staff turned not to Carson Beck, but instead to a lightly heralded walk-on, Stetson Bennett lV. Bennett had shown flashes of dual threat brilliance when running the Dawgs’ scout teams and the bold coaching decision proved prescient.
Said Beck at the time, “That Friday before the game I was told it wasn’t me. I thought it was me before then,” Beck said. “It was tough, really tough. I’m not going to lie, that was a very pivotal point for me not only as a person but as a quarterback because I was going in — 19 years old at the time — I’m still a teenager. I was a kid at that point. I’ve grown so much over the past three years since that moment, but I didn’t handle it well at all.”
58 Snaps in Two Years
Not only would would Carson Beck sit behind Stetson Bennett in 2021, but again in 2022, as the 5’11” 185 lb former walk-on would lead Georgia to back to back national titles playing spectacularly in all the big games including MVP in both national championships.
In 2021 and 2022 Carson Beck had a lot of options. He had years of eligibility, the transfer portal and a four-star pedigree. He could have transferred to just about any program in the country looking for a 6’4” 225 lb classic pocket passer with a rocket arm and enough escapability to extend plays down field. But Carson chose to stick it out in Athens, Georgia. He loved the school, the coach, and his teammates. He stayed put.
The Coronation in 2023
So when his chance finally rolled around in 2023 he made the most of it. He also had the benefit of a Georgia system that does not require the Quarterback to carry the entire team on his back (see Shedeur Sanders.) Georgia has always emphasized the running game along with potent tight ends (see Brock Bowers) and both supported by All-American offensive linemen. The defense is a plus for any Quarterback looking to start drives in good field position.
Carson Beck made the most of it. In 2023 he settled in quickly as the first year starter and began his career with 11 straight games of over 250 passing yards which led to 11 straight wins. The Cinderella season for Beck would end in the SEC Championship game at the hands of Jalen Milroe and Alabama 27-24. The loss would knock 11-1 Georgia out of the CFP.
#1 Pick in the 2025 Draft?
His 3,941 yards passing led the SEC and his 302 of 417 passing translated into a 72.4% completion rate good for 5th best in the country. Combine that with 24 TD passes vs only 6 pics and Carson Beck is positioned to take Georgia back to the CFP as well as insinuate himself into the Heisman and NFL first pick discussions. In week one he jump-started the conversation by leading #1 Georgia to a convincing 34-3 win over #14 Clemson. His 23 of 33 for 278 yards and 2 TDs vs zero pics won’t hurt his standing.
The intangibles seem to be there. Carson is not a self-promoter, seems to be team driven and we certainly cannot question his loyalty to Georgia and the coaching staff. My only concern has been the Lamborghini. What’s with that? An NIL deal for a yellow Lamborghini Urus Performance. What is NIL doing to these guys?
“I love cars. I got a car. That’s really all it is,” Beck said, smiling. “Obviously a lot of people are going to look at it and say what a terrible decision, what a terrible choice with his money. But it’s just a car at the end of the day. It’s not too big of a deal. I’m just driving it around.”
It’s been no secret that Georgia has had major issues with players driving recklessly. So, During SEC Media Days in July, Beck was asked about the speed of his Lamborghini and he didn’t hesitate to throw [some of] his teammates under the bus with his response, “Obviously, my car is fast, 100 percent, but I don’t drive like an idiot,” Beck said.
OK, I’ll accept that. Clearly Carson Beck knows how to drive the Georgia offense. His job will be to stay in his lanes and make good decisions with the football. He’s once again off to a fast but reliable start!
Other Quarterbacks who could break into the Top 5 NFL draft discussion:
Cam Ward, University of Miami
Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
Drew Allar, Penn State
Conner Weigman, Texas A&M,
